another hype well deserved. ms madeline miller's writing is my ambrosia and nectar. the start of the book was slow but quickly picked up as time in the book passed and the central characters started growing up. I found myself wanting to pick up the book more halfway through. i have a soft spot for retellings written in the perspective of the "underdog"/minor characters, and Patroclus proved to be a very effective protagonist given the mystery surrounding him historically. this is, in its essence, a love story, but i also liked how accessible this book is for an introduction into the battle of Troy.
