That Peckham Boy by Kenny Imafidon
5.0

My thoughts: That Peckham Boy was a humble retelling of Kenny’s early years of life and how association with the wrong crowd left him fighting a murder charge - a murder he did not commit.

The memoir recounts Kennys struggles with living in poverty, his mother being a single parent, racial and socioeconomic differences and prejudices as well as the ever increasing hot topic of joint enterprise crimes (where an individual can be jointly convicted of a crime even if not committing the actual action)

I felt so inspired by Kenny’s determination and assertiveness to change his life around; and to better improve societies understanding and knowledge of the issues and discrimination youths, and more specifically young black males face.

Despite the challenges Kenny faced, he is a brave and honest man who sparks pure positivity and inspiration.

This is such an incredible memoir that is raw and emotive while displaying such a great positive message and I highly recommend it to every single reader on here
