Luna & Me: The True Story of a Girl Who Lived in a Tree to Save a Forest by Jenny Sue Kostecki-Shaw

3.0

A fictionalized semi-biographical picture book of the activist and her friends who camped out in a giant redwood for 2 years to save it from logging; she got the forest turned into a preserve. The fictional part is that Julia was 23, not a young girl, when she did this, and then there's the fact that the tree in the story is anthropomorphized and given thoughts! There are no sources given, other than a sanctuary forest website. Watercolor and color pencil illustrations are nice.
