Although comics have the tendency to slow down or decline in quality the more issues there are, I did not feel that this volume had any of that. I felt as engaged in the second volume, and I would go as far to say that I liked this volume more than 1 and 2.

Most of all, I appreciate the venture into political complexities and the the big picture perspective when disaster hits humanity (albeit in the form of monsters). The writers certainly don't shy away from important themes such as ethical choices when it comes to how people manage world-ending situations, and I love this volume for exploring exactly that.

I LOVE how this comic approaches the concept of heroism. It encapsulates the dirty, rough-around-the-edges nature of a realistic, relatable, everyday hero. This volume really leans into how impactful and finite a sacrifice can be - embracing that real, ugly (and sometimes mundane) sacrifices create the realistic versions of heroes instead of whatever stereotypical hero movies propagate.

Overall, I'm looking forward to how they explore these themes of grey-zone decisions and politics in the upcoming volumes whilst managing to incorporate horror elements, provided a lot of the story has been explained.
