A bit meh.

A lot of background noise, and too many red herrings to the point where I suspected yet another character to be wheeled out as a ‘surprise’.

Lacey is getting written worse in this book and there is a particularly trajectory for her broken character that I really didn’t care for in an attempt to darken the plot (involving knives). Just wasn’t really necessary and because there wasn’t much overall discussion with it (ie what drew her to doing it) it just seemed pointless.

The first two books are better (the first being the best) and I’ve got another two to read. Not sure if I want to!
