Giana is my fave dark romance author and I'm slowly going through and loving all her books.

However Serpentine Valentine has to be my absolute favourite for so many reasons.

For the strength of Lex and her assault.
For the other women who stood up and told their nightmare.
For the justice that finally got served.
For having the perfect sapphic representation. Lex and Luna I love them so much.

This book is a trigger, but unlike most books, Giana writes with so much sensitivity, truth (her acknowledgements.. I can see how much this book means to her and a therapy for her too) and not making women victims but making them strong and fierce.

This is Giana's first sapphic book and I hope it won't be her last. As a bi/pansexual woman (newly out) the representation felt so true and so personal to me, especially when remembering my first time falling for a woman.

Giana is amazing at writing dark academia and the literature quotes (studying eng lit degree here) just chefs kiss. The poetic language that Giana wrote here, the descriptions she wrote, of all the feelings felt in all these women, the hurt, pain, sorrow, anger, but love, light, family, trust etc. Just wonderful.

I shed a painful tears, I screamed out in anger, I felt furious, then my heart felt full, then broke then just felt utter peace, joy and happiness.

A book that needs to be read by all.

Well done Giana, I can't imagine how hard this book was to write but you did it justice and to all women who've been hurt. ❤️
