Mostly predictable plot, with twists that felt cheap or shallow. Very surprising lack of accuracy/realism when it comes to the MC’s career field, like even at the most basic level. For example, in a flashback, the MC tells someone that after college she wants to get her PhD, and then her master’s. Huh? Ethical violations up the wazoo, and several bizarre, unrealistic portrayals that left me wondering how the editor let so much fly, which was all very distracting. Don’t even get me started about the stupid men and the way they were all written in this book. It was a fast read, but I honestly wish I had the time back.
