A celebration of female emancipation, The Girl with the Louding Voice is a bold, courageous and powerful story that will capture your heart and set you on an emotional journey.

Daring to dream, Adunni was determined to better her life; to become more than a child bride and to receive an education so she, herself, could become a teacher and one day give back to her community.

A child of 14 forced to become a woman before her time, Adunni flees her small, impoverished hometown of Ikati for the bustling, wealthy city of Lagos where she secures a job as a housemaid for fabric tycoon Big Madam. Tantamounts to modern day slavery, Adunni receives no payment for her hours of hard work and sees her physically abused on a regular basis. Beaten but not beaten down, Adunni finds her louding voice which will set her a path which will change her life for the better.

Set against the backdrop Nigeria's vast poverty gap, this story is an insightful read and shines a light on the shocking inequality and exploitation suffered in modern day Nigeria.
