The Cruel Prince by Holly Black is definitely a book for someone who loves to read about morally grey characters. So many of these characters have charming traits that are overlooked by questionable decisions. But I adored it.

I will say the main downfall would be the pacing of the novel. While there are some fast-paced scenes, they are overshadowed by the slower build-up of world building. Alongside this, many people expect an enemies-to-lovers novel but end up with a book about faerie politics. I found the main plot around politics to be very entertaining though!

Overall, I'm drawn to realistic fiction and character-driven stories, but I couldn't help but love this story.
