The Hawthorne Legacy by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

2.0

After that epilogue in the last book
I was hopeful that we would finally get a good reason for why Mr. Hawthorne chose MC for inheritance. Since I was so disappointed with the last book's reasoning I was hopeful that this book would provide something more.
Guess what, I am still disappointed, maybe more than the last book.
So whatever the reason for MC inheritance is given in the first book, that is the only main reason.
But this book had more secrets and revelations but then again the execution was so poor.
There is a saying "Show don't tell" and the author has done the complete opposite.
She doesn't believe her readers will be able to solve anything that's why she was just providing us bits and parts so easily.
First of all, I don't even understand why Avery is the main character. She has no personality, the brothers usually solve 90% of the mystery and there is nothing mysterious about her personality as the author wants us to believe.
I haven't seen her solving any puzzle on her own. She either gets it easily on her platter or someone else solves it.
The author has worked so much on the brother and other various side characters to give them a unique voice so that you can distinguish them but she forgot to work on the MC.To be honest the writing was again so bad and disappointing.
But since last book Jameson grew on me. I still love Grayson though, more.
