All Our Yesterdays

The southern Italians sure know how to paint a life. And a true testament to the art of translation because there is a very specific compelling urgency yet dryness conveyed in the never ending sentences describing all sorts of mundanity, even in English. Yet at the same time I’m envious of how melodically and syllabically harmonic it must read in the original. Maybe I’ll learn Italian haha. Anyway I love a book where amidst the background of fascism and revolution, love and human connection is the more terrifying thing.
