The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck

sad

3.5

I'm surprised to be giving this one only 3.5 stars. I read "East of Eden" last year and was absolutely blown away by that one so decided I wanted to read more Steinbeck starting with revisiting this one read as many in high school. It was a slog. I really had to push myself to read this book and it very much felt like homework. I do think it's important history and think it should remain on the curriculum, it is well written, but it has nothing from the literary masterpiece perspective of "East of Eden".
