Rounded up to 5 stars because geeky nerd + brawny navy SEAL + Labrador puppy = YES!!!
My favorite book in the series remains the first one but this came pretty close!
Despite the instant attraction, it wasn't insta-love. Quite the opposite actually. Josiah's and Ryan's relationship was a slow and steady progress from friendship to love. The issues they both had to work through felt real and realistic and I liked that they weren't easily overcome.
Still, the ending felt a little abrupt. Because both MCs have been apart for most of the story, mostly communicating via email and texts, I would have liked to see more of them being really together in day-to-day life - although the kinda epilogue in the last chapter gave a small glimpse of that.
