This would have been better stated in a long form article or a short series of blog posts. As it stands, the book is basic in some parts (delete apps from your phone and go for hours-long walks every day) and dry research in other parts (really, the guy talks about Thoreau waaayyy too much.)

While there are some interesting points made about analyzing how one uses social media, the author comes across as rather smug about his own lack of online presence.

I did reduce the number of people and topics I follow on social media, and in just a few days, that has made a noticeable impact on my time spent online. While I liked several of his suggestions regarding solitude and leisure time, it seems the author has never spent much time around SAHMs, mothers of small children, or homeschoolers because several of his ideas were completely impractical.
