Summer in the Scottish Highlands by Donna Ashcroft

4.0

Summer in the Scottish Highlands has a quiet sort of charm. The book doesn't have any really big plot points or (settings?) but it is one of the most charming books I have read this year. The characters were lovely, the setting beautiful, and the cooking aspect of the book was absolutely delightful. I personally love cooking and baking, and aside from reading, I would say that the kitchen is my refuge. I have never really read a book that captured the essence of that as well as this one did and I greatly appreciated it. Though the ending did feel a bit rushed, overall it was a wonderful & charming book which I highly recommend.

I only have one criticism for the book which is that it did fall into a bit of an annoying trope for me with the main character
