A beautiful and honest look at a culture and it's people when faced with tragedy. Daunis was an excellent heroine, she was flawed yet earnest in her love of family, tribe, friends, hockey, knowledge, basically everything she touched. Her character development was some of the best I've read in a long time. I was skeptical about this book at first as it's a bit long, but it didn't feel long when I was reading it. Also, the audio is wonderful and I highly recommend it.
