I loved this so much 😭😭 I will read anything else the author puts out! their writing made me laugh and cry in equal measure- i think the tone was perfect for the MC and the story.
I love speculative fiction, so the amount of dystopianness was perfect for me. it was a very interesting look at a different (but still shitty!!!) criminal legal system. the one critique i have is that I think non-white people would still be more heavily impacted in this society, but the author doesn’t really get into it. i would love a Black author’s story set in this world.
More than being dystopian, this story is about grief and love… which i’m always gonna be a sucker for. especially when it’s about lesbians raising a family? that hits me a lil tooo close 😭❤️ anyway, read this if u wanna cry!
