Loved every second of this novella. Grim and Argyle are so sweet and I loved seeing their friendship evolve over this story. (I honestly would love to read more books that have platonic friendships at the heart of it instead of a romance.)
This book is set in Embervein, a little town that has all sorts of magical people and creatures living together. Grim is a non-binary vampire PI and Argyle is a werewolf guard that's been assigned to help them. They work together to solve a mystery where bad luck as started to impact many of the residents around town. This book is just so sweet and while it does end on a cliffhanger, you can just dive into the second book in the series to find out what happens next.
