I Might Regret This: Essays, Drawings, Vulnerabilities, and Other Stuff by Abbi Jacobson

emotional funny reflective medium-paced

4.0

This collection of essays is delightful, funny, and heartfelt. Much like her work on Broad City, Jacobson is not afraid to poke fun at herself and her own anxieties. Some of the funniest, most laugh-out-loud moments in this book are when Abbi experiences insomnia and offers readers a glimpse into her anxious stream-of-consciousness. Beyond the humor, though, this collection really shines as an earnest memoir about Abbi's life, art, and self-discovery. Her honesty in these essays gradually exposes her vulnerabilities in a very relatable and self-aware manner. Abbi's authorial voice seemed so genuine that, as I read, I felt like I was having an open conversation with a good friend.
