Wayfarer by Alexandra Bracken

I liked the ending but the whole book was kind of average. I thought it was too long. I found myself pretty bored and at not point every time I thought about picking it up and finishing it I didn't want to so I read 4 other books between starting this one and finishing it, haha. I liked the section where Etta was with the Hemlocks. I love her dad. And Sophia was hands down the best part of this book. I liked her romance with Li Min too.

Nicholas is my favorite perspective. I'm kind of eh on Etta. The last scene where Etta was playing and her family showed up gave me chills though. But WHAT THE HELL SHE DIDN'T EVEN SAY HI TO HER FAMILY SHE JUST LEFT WITH NICK SERIOUSLY WHAT. Like oh my god girl, you think your parents are either dead or lost to you forever, you see them in the crowd and cry of happiness and then Nick is like lets go on a time adventure again and you leave without even speaking to your parents. That ruined everything for me, like it makes absolutely no sense.

So yeah, this was just an okay book. I think it could have been shorter and that's why it fell flat for me. There was too much time to be disinterested. And also I thought the alchemist plot was so weird. That took this into fantasy territory that didn't make sense with the rest of the book to me. But oh well. I'm finished with it now so yeah.
