Baby Bear by Kadir Nelson

I am absolutely enthralled by the talent Kadir Nelson demonstrates in his oil painting illustrations. This book is no exception. The beauty he portrays and the heart-warmingness of the animals along the way who try to help Bear find his way home makes for a wonderful picture book read. I'm just not sure how I feel about the ending -- I was expecting his "home" to be something different.
As I was going along, I kept thinking of [b:I Want My Hat Back|11233988|I Want My Hat Back|Jon Klassen|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1327888784s/11233988.jpg|16160067], and how this book reminded me of it in the way of going through the forest and asking different animals for help. Could make an interesting pairing for students to look at the different tones/moods.
