The Year of the Witching by Alexis Henderson

but rounding up to increase the star average LOL.
Loved the religious criticism, racial discussions, and evil descriptions. Alexis Henderson bound to be extremely proud of herself. Read many great reviews and I’m really glad I picked it up.
Descriptive language, and the bloody horror lived up to its descriptions. Also loved the feminist undertones, and the diversity in the cast that’s usually missing in fiction like this.
Really enjoyed the lore of the witches + how they were introduced. Would’ve loved further descriptions or more POVs, not just immanuelles.
It would’ve helped the reader empathize with the characters a bit more, but the book was efficient in telling a complex story.
Would recommend to anyone wanting to get into fiction as the world building is pretty straight forward + the magic system isn’t foreign.
I would say this book is like PG13.
