A Sign of Affection, Volume 1
by suu Morishita
Such a good start to this series! I have the feeling it's going to be one of those luxuriously slow types of slow-burn romances. I don't think I have ever read a shojo romance story that features a deaf lead character, so this was so interesting for me. I know minimal sign language, but it's strictly ASL. So the note talking about Japanese sign language was both interesting and informational! Yuki is an interesting character as well. Her current world is pretty small, but she dreams of expanding it and seeing more of the wider world. The budding romance between her and Itsuomi is so cute! They seem like they would be opposites, but they fit together surprisingly well. I do foresee there being some sort of love triangle or unrequited love plotline regarding the childhood friend. I could end up getting proven wrong, but I don't think I will be. I'm eager to read more!
