I was so excited to see that we were getting another entry into the Risdaverse because I really enjoy this series, and these characters. This story follows Ashley, a human refugee, and her love story with Khex, a local official. I love these two characters so much and the respect and care they have for one another. Plus, there is so much pining. How can you not love the pining?

Three Thoughts:
1. The disability representation in this was A+ (and the hero's reaction to learning about it), and I especially liked that it was based on the author's own experiences.
2. Loved the friends to lovers vibe in this - a first for this series. And, how Khex refused to pressure Ashley even though he'd been secretly pining for months.
3. I always really like when we get cameos from previous couples in the books - not only is it just nice to see them being happy after their books are over, but it also makes the small farming community thing feel more "realistic."

This was a great addition to my favorite series by Ruby Dixon. And, I would honestly read a dozen more stories set on Risda III.
