So I think having context from the films is what really helped me navigate this whopper of a book. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, but I can't say I'm enthralled to pick up the next one in the series (at least not until the next film comes out). But yes, positively surprised! Intricate world building and insight into some of the characters who aren't as explored in the films. Would recommend to anyone really interested in sci-fi!
