The Summer of the Great-Grandmother
by Madeleine L'Engle
I started the first of these crosswick journals a few years back. I enjoyed the first one but it took a long time to finish it. This one was not like that. It’s very much a meditation on grief and the process of accepting the seasonality of life. It is also a love letter in many ways to her mother, the aged one with dementia and the one that was. It is also a family history of the various grandmothers.
