Sophia St. Germain certainly knows how to write a book series that is a roller-coaster. You think you know where it is going but then suddenly you are going backwards, are flipped upside down, and are going through a funhouse at the same time. While the pacing of this book was a bit slow at points, the introduction of the new POVs was great. Seeing what Loche and Frelina were going through was great. I kind of hope we get some Raine POVs in the last book. Even if it just one or two. I love all these characters so much. I will revolt if they don't all get their happy endings.
I will be honest, I was kind of bored in the middle part of the book. I don't know if it was a me problem or the pacing just changed or what. I almost felt slumpy going into this book so maybe that's the problem. The thing that brought me back to reading this book was Merrick and Elessia. Their relationship was absolutely everything to me, throughout this book. I need them to get a happy ending. I want them to have the life Merrick imagines for them. It has to happen or I will lose my mind. I will literally go insane.
This series has taken so many twists and turns I don't even know what to think. I have no idea what is coming in the final book. None. Which means I need it ASAP. The last 100 pages had be going from anxious to sad to heartbroken (which is very different from sad for me apparently) to confused and full of questions. If you enjoy romantasy series with plot twists and fated mates, you need to read this series. It will be a completed series by the end of the year so pick it up now.
