This book was well worth the read. It hit me in the feels. It was a little slow and I have to convince myself to stick with it. I thought several times throughout the book that I really identified with Vianne and I kind of hated myself for it. But maybe some of my discomfort from reading it wasn't about the slowness per say but more because of how much I identified with Vianne and how she handled such atrocities. Those atrocities made me so uncomfortable that I had to force myself to keep reading and not bury my head and pretend like it's clearly all fiction like I really wanted to.
