The Blood Card by Elly Griffiths

4.0

The third fun episode in Griffiths' series of murder mysteries featuring past members of the secretive group of vaudeville performers who sought to befuddle Nazi plans with various schemes using illusions of various types. Those effects mostly failed, but the group keeps getting drawn back together to solve murders that usually involve past members of the group, or other vaudevillians they know. A potential bombing of the upcoming coronation of Elisabeth is discovered during the investigation of the murder of the old commander of the Mystery Men.
As in the other books, Griffiths has done enough research in magic effects and methods to present plausible routines as they are performed on stage and up close, so magicians can enjoy the story without much worry about exposure.
