michaeldionne 's review for:
Great Expectations
by Charles Dickens
Upon re-read:
I think that the problem I have with this book is that the protagonist is too beset by his own problems and ingratitude. Compared to Copperfield, he's a bit grating and self-absorbed. It fits the story but is less affecting, unfortunately.
Initial review:
Only slightly worse than David Copperfield.
