Eli is now one of my book boyfriends. Love love love a “he falls first” romance. Rue deserved to feel the love she got from Eli. Literally so cute and the spice was *chef’s kiss*. They definitely didn’t dethrone Olive and Adam but I liked them. I liked that their story showed them sharing parts of themselves without judgement between them. Which also lead to some conversations about things like Eli’s ex-fiancée. I know talking about exes can ick so many people out but I think with the way it was done, from a place of honesty and acknowledgment, I didn’t mind. It wasn’t Eli being clearly hung up on her. Plus, Rue got to ask all the questions without being made to feel weird about being curious about his past.
