To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf
3.0

I know that Virginia Woolf is a masterful writer. While I could see the touches of her depression come through in this piece, and her articulation of the futility of existence and the struggle in finding meaning were beautifully done, I had a hard time getting past the utter self-absorption and privilege of the characters. I only finished this book because Nicole Kidman was narrating it on Audible, and she has one of the most soothing voices I've ever heard. However, I would have been equally happy to hear her read the phone book.
