Fourth Wing
by Rebecca Yarros
Honestly, i wouldn't say this book is bad, but it didn't live up to my expectations. I understand why it's so popular and loved by so many people, but it was a bit bland for me. I was expecting something epic; something bigger, especially since the story involves a war academy and dragons, it actually fell more into the romance.
Speaking of the romance, i also felt a bit disappointed. For some reason, the story between Violet and Xaden felt so rushed, not that thrilling. They should be enemies to lovers; they should be more annoying to each other. Also, it felt like their love blossomed without a story that became a crucial point for their changing feelings, other than being tied because they were mating to a couple dragon.
In terms of world-building, i felt the author wasn't very good at visualizating a grand and expansive world. It's a shame that so much was left out, even though the world-building in this book would have been excellent if explored properly.
But other than those things, i still find this book so interesting, still worth the hype tho.
Personal Rating: 3.75 stars.
