Ares has died, so a series of three challenges is being held, the winner of which will become the new Ares and win Helen’s hand in marriage. Helen doesn’t want to be Ares’s wife. She wants to be Ares and prove to herself and the rest of Olympus that she’s more than just a pretty face. Achilles wants to make a name for himself and winning the Ares Challenge will do just that. Patroclus loves Achilles deeply, and will do anything for him, even joining the dangerous Ares Challenge to assist Achilles in any way he can. Patroclus dreads the day that Achilles wins the Ares Challenge and takes Helen as his bride, but Patroclus feels drawn to Helen, and he thinks his boyfriend is drawn to her too.
