whitmc 's review for:
Before the Fall
by Noah Hawley
I enjoyed it, but it was less "edge of your seat" than I expected. The back and forth between the current plot and the past stories of the passengers broke up the urgency, but painted the purpose that I think the book was capturing. By the end, it was less about why the plane went down, and more about a respect for the seeming randomness of tragedy. And of course, the string message on the effect of the news hungry culture in the perception of truth and quest for answers at any cost.
