4.5⭐️/5

After I read “A Flicker in the Dark” (5⭐️ read for me) I RAN to pick up Willingham’s sophomore novel, All the Dangerous Things, and it did not disappoint. Not only is this book provocative, unputdownable, and suspenseful, but it reflects on motherhood in all its forms, which I found to be a thought-provoking and unique element in a psychological-thriller.

This book is responsible for the following:
1. Keeping me up at night and not in a fun way, in a “I am too creeped out to take the dog out” kind of way.
2. My new fear of someone kidnapping my child (I don’t have any children)
3. Making me google CrimeCon?? (ComicCon but for true crime) And finding out it’s real?? Guys. No.

I won’t say too much because I think this book is best if you go in blind, but even though the first 1/3 was a little slow-going, I still found her writing style very readable and I was never bored. There came a point where I couldn’t put it down! I guessed a couple of the smaller twists, but did NOT guess some of the larger twists more central to the plot. Willingham has become an auto-buy author for me!

Read if you like multiple timelines, sleep deprivation, true crime podcasts, narrators who can’t trust themselves, a slow burn thriller, and questioning your sanity.
