Clara reinvigorates beautiful old hotels and resorts for a living, Archie owns one of those hotels and doesn't feel that they need help at all, tradition has worked for the last 150 years why would it fail them now? His father however has brought in Clara because he realizes that things need to change.
These 2 fight like cats and dogs over every little change she brings up, she slowly wins him over but when he overhears her asking about his wife(he's widowed) the anger and fighting flares back up. Even their sexy time encounters are angry at first, and when they get past the anger point it's still intense. Clara is very focused and self sufficient, she's a foster kid so she's only ever been able to rely on herself so she doesn't know what to do with all of her emotions and his feelings which he is much more comfortable expressing.
The only thing that bothered me about this story was the lack of communication about practical things like birth control and protection or testing, even though he's only ever been with his wife, she just hops on and goes to town, no convo about her or him really.
