I really thought I'd love this, magical realism is one of my favourite genres and I love family sagas. However I really disliked this overall there were parts that I really loved, which made it all the more disappointing. I really liked the early chapters with Clara as a child and Ferula, but I really hated Esteban. The blurb really makes it seem like the women are the focus of this story when it's really about Esteban. I'm fine with an unlikable character but in this case there just wasn't anything else to like. The story felt weirdly paced Blanca was completely brushed over and had no development. Even with Alba who becomes the main focus of the latter portion felt underdeveloped.
