Testimony: The Memoirs of Dmitri Shostakovich by Solomon Volkov, Dmitri Shostakovich
4.0
I had mixed feelings about this book because of the controversy surrounding it, but despite that I found it at times insightful, engaging, and compelling. Overall it was an enjoyable read. This narrative gives a vivid voice to a composer I knew little about outside of his music. I love the quote about "the muse of meetings".
