Titans #17 by Dan Abnett

This was spectacular, and scary and depressing. Time travel stories are always fascinating, but stories about immortality can be some of the most heartbreaking. We really feel the pathos and anger in Troia and can understand why she wants to spare her younger self the grief. I feel like there is something else on her agenda as well, but I would honestly love it if just her unending loneliness has driven her mad enough to become the frightening force that she is. Donna really has been underserved this entire series, so for her to be the focus of a comic is great. I want her to be more than a love interest, which is why I quite love her terribly contrived character reveal. As long as her arc is not intrinsically connected to romance, we’re good. They’ve got me psyched for the next issue, so I’m hoping they don’t let me down.
