Coraline by Neil Gaiman

5.0

I remember being enticed by this cover as a kid and then discovering that the story inside perfectly matched its creepiness — in the best way. Reading this for a second time also made me appreciate the (excellent) movie even more, which totally captures the essence of the book, right down to the exact clothing Coraline wears. How many adaptations do you know of that have done that?

Overall, rereading a couple of my childhood favorites (out loud, with loved ones) has been a really pleasant experience thus far. I'm very happy to discover that younger me also had excellent taste ;)
