A Soldier's Wish by N.R. Walker

Another beautiful story by this author.

Gary is probably one of the most amazing and sweet characters I have ever read. He's smart, kind, and just so inherently good. The way he lives and sees the world is quite gorgeous and his devotion to Richard is achingly sweet.

And as for Richard. He's a bit of a conundrum, he know's his truth, he just doesn't know how to live it. And he's rewarded in his willingness to trust Gary. He's just one of those good guys who deserves good things.

This is weird, but the structure of this book really made it for me. I won't give anything away, but the way we're told of how these two come together and hold onto each other against the odds that are thrown at them, it was special, it makes sense and it flowed beautifully.

Shout-out to the character Kat - I loved seeing a secondary, 'ally' character. And her own thread of love, friendship, and support in this story just gave it extra depth and dimension.

A gorgeous story to read with your eggnog by your Christmas tree . . .
