All I've Wanted All I've Needed by A.E. Valdez

3.0

I wanted to love this book so bad, it’s all over booktok. I just knew it was going to be a 5 star read for me but unfortunately I didn’t love it. The pacing in the beginning felt rushed then slowed down then rushed again. The writing felt almost elementary to me.

In the beginning when Harlow refused Hendrix proposal I was under the impression that the characters were just not a good fit and Hendrix was a good guy, as the story progresses we see that Hendrix is very selfish, and just not a good guy overall and that was a bit confusing to me.

I also felt as if I was reading about teenagers not grown adults. I personally don’t believe two adults would be spending all of their time together as “friends” it felt unrealistic. The slow burn was slowwww. I cringed the whole time reading Harlow’s birthday party scene, very corny in my opinion.

Overall I liked the book and I loved to see Harlow’s character development and the self love and confidence boost. I loved to see that you will be okay after a breakup and it’s not the end of the world and it’s okay to start over and change!
