Piranesi is the beloved keeper of the house where he cares for all within, living and inanimate. He has one friend; The Other, who is searching for The Great Knowledge. In his desire to help this friend Piranesi slowly unlocks the secrets of the house and himself. 

At first this book was hard to get into because the first 30 pages or so are all descriptions of the house through Piranesi’s detailed, scientific journals. I’m so glad I stick with it because this novel was AMAZING. I don’t want to spoil anything because the mystery behind the house and Piranesi are what make this book so goo! I loved the beautiful prose, the characters, especially Piranesi were so well crafted they felt like real people, and the mystery was well paced and intriguing.  I could not put this down once it got going and I read more than half of the book to completion in one day. 

Highly recommend this to anyone looking for an excellent mystery with a touch of Science fiction, fantasy, and strong characters.
