Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman
5.0

“Self-awareness, in short, means being "aware of both our mood and our thoughts about that mood”

“At best, IQ contributes about 20 percent to the factors that determine life success, which leaves 80 percent to other forces. As one observer notes, "The vast majority of one's ultimate niche in society is determined by non-1Q factors, ranging from social class to luck."

SUCH a fascinating book that really opened my eyes and explained self awareness in a much brighter light. The book explains how the human brain developed and why/how our emotions came to be and tying in self-awareness into all of it. But about ~54% of the way through the book changes into child psychology which makes sense but I struggled to get through it towards the end.
