“Once Upon a Crime” is another clever addition to Michael Buckley’s “The Sisters Grimm Series.”

This was one of my favourite middle grade series growing up and I’m so excited to revisit it as an adult to see how it holds up. The book is just as whimsical as I remembered, taking the classic fairytales and turning them on their heads.

“Once Upon a Crime” is a good book but definitely has middle book syndrome. Although there’s still a mystery that’s resolved in this book, it’s clear the fourth book is really meant to provide more information about Sabrina and Daphne’s parents and set some things up for the bigger plot lines of what happened to their parents and who is the Scarlet Hand.
