Plot:

So we have Addie, an author who decides to go and live in her grandma's house, a very creepy Victorian house on the outskirts of Seattle. She's living her best life while trying to unsolve the mystery which surrounds her great-grandmother's death. However, she has captured the attention of someone, someone who will go to a great extent to make her his own, someone who isn't afraid to kill in order to protect the ones he cares about, the ones he loves. Soon, he'll become her stalker and she, his little mouse. While she's trying to handle everything on her plate and he's trying to make her his, his secrets will soon catch up with them, secrets that leave no one safe.

Review:

Okay, so I started reading it because of the obvious reasons, the ✨peppery action✨. It was all over booktok since last year and I thought I should give it a go.

PROBABLY ONE OF THE SMARTEST DECISION I EVER MADE

If we have to address the elephant in the room, then yes let me tell you that this book was 🔥FIRE🔥. And yes it wasn't some scattered pages every 10 chapters, THIS BOOK DELIVERED. I literally have never read a book so fast in my life, felt more like inhaling to reading actually. I declare Zade to be among my husbands thank you😌 This man should be protected and cherished at all costs, PERIODT.

What I liked more though it's the fact that there was a ton of good plot. It had me literally at the edge of my seat. I didn't expect it to have this much action! It gives off mystery/thriller vibes, which I didn't expect at all. The book depicts a very grim side of society, which is extremely shocking and appalling. My blood boiled so much that I wished I was Zade's little helper on multiple occasions🙂🔪

This book was so much more than I hoped for and ahhh I'm so happy that I finally read it! and thank goodness that the next one is already out BECAUSE THAT CLIFFHANGER SHOULD BE ILLEGAL.

The writing was exceptional, the plot was built up beautifully and the characters were incredible. It was my first book by this author, but I'll definitely read more of her works.

Oh there are a TON of trigger warnings, so make sure you read them before you decide to pick it up. And remember that you should not read it if it makes you uncomfortable just because it's a famous book. Not everyone has the same tastes and that is totally fine.
