I didn't have the same issues with this book as I had with the first. Solid, light read. I find the author's pace and progression keeps my interest and the concept of magic is still intriguing and diffferent from other magical storylines.
Learned this is a spinoff form another series and now I'm curious if the other series explains it better. Though it does seem as thoughagic is still newly accepted and this could explain a lot of the gaps in knowledge.
I enjoy our main character and while she is slightly self deprecating it's not as bad as some other novels I've read and she does appear to be improving in that aspect. I am intrigued enough to continue this series !
