Convergence by Etta Pierce

5.0

5 stars - I loved it!

When Olivia Loxley is attacked and kidnapped from her home she never expects to find herself on an alien spacecraft being asked to help the Commander stop a sex trafficking criminal.

This book was wonderful. By the time I finished the first chapter, I knew I was going to love this book and world. Olivia was a wonderful heroine. She was strong, smart, and extremely adaptive to the situation. From the very beginning, Olivia is bombarded with new aliens, cultures, and ways of life but she just rolls with it and accepts that this is her life now. It was really nice having such a capable heroine who didn’t obsess with what was left behind.

Atarian was a fantastic hero and commander. I really liked that we have this strong, capable alien soldier who was a gentleman. Atarian really respected Olivia from the very beginning and was extremely honorable about how he acquired Olivia. When he realizes his matting urges are occurring he does everything to resist them and keeps his distance and waits for Olivia to make the first move.

Atarian and Olivia’s relationship was a wonderful slow burn. It takes the whole book for these two to finally get together but it was so worth it. I loved watching these two get to know each other, learn about each other's cultures, and flirt with each other. I really can’t wait to start the next book to see how their relationship plays out.

Not only does this book have wonderful characters but it also has a very fascinating world with multiple different alien species and cultures. Pierce did a wonderful job creating this world and providing us with a lot of details without making it feel like an info dump or overly technical. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series and learn more about this world.

Trigger Warnings: abduction; sex trafficking; interrogation and torture (not the MCs); violence;
