A sweet, cozy and sapphic autumn read.

With short and sweet chapters, a lovely sapphic romance and a little bit of murder mystery, this book makes for a great autumn read. It has me dreaming of opening up a little cafรฉ in a town like Maple Hollow.

This story is told in dual POV, with cute and funny banter throughout. I did find it very fast-paced with minimal worldbuilding, so although the magic of Maple Hollow isn't explained in depth and some scenes moved quickly, I never lost interest in the story. It's simple and cozy, like a hallmark movie set around Halloween with magical characters. I did find the actions of some of the characters a little bit irrational at times, but I'm nothing if not a little nit-picky.

Overall, it was a very cozy and digestible read. The kind of book you pick up when you don't want something overly serious and that you could read in one sitting... curled up with your favourite autumn drink.
